As your organization grows, you may need to add more licenses to your oboloo account. This guide will walk you through the process of managing your subscription and adding more licenses using our Stripe customer portal.
Managing Your Subscription
To add more licenses, follow these steps:
- Access Account Management: Go to the "Settings" menu on the left-hand main menu and select "Account Management."
- Manage Subscription and Billing: Click on the "Manage subscription and billing" button. You will be redirected to the customer portal hosted by Stripe.
- Login to Stripe Customer Portal: The user who originally signed up for the trial needs to manage the organization’s subscription and billing. Input the primary user's email address into the Stripe customer portal. A login link will be sent to that email address. Click the link to access the portal.
- Upgrade Plan: In the customer portal, click on the "Upgrade plan" button. You will have the option to change the quantity of licenses.
- Confirm Purchase: Select the increased quantity of licenses. Confirm your purchase using the default billing method. You can also change your billing method in the customer portal (refer to the "Updating Your Payment Method" user guide for more information). You will be billed immediately for any additional licenses. New licenses are made available immediately within your oboloo platform.
Prorated Billing
At oboloo, we use prorated billing to ensure you only pay for the exact amount of time you use additional licenses. This means that if you add licenses partway through your billing cycle, you'll only be charged for the remaining period. For example, if your annual license costs $995.88 and you add a license halfway through the year, you will be billed approximately $497.94 for that license. This prorated amount reflects the cost for the remaining six months of the annual billing period. This ensures fair and transparent billing, so you only pay for what you use.
Decreasing the Number of Licenses
You can also decrease the number of licenses by following the same steps:
- Access Account Management: Go to the "Settings" menu and select "Account Management."
- Manage Subscription and Billing: Click on "Manage subscription and billing" to access the Stripe customer portal.
- Upgrade Plan: Click on the "Upgrade plan" button and reduce the number of licenses.
- Removed Licenses: Licenses will remain available until your next billing cycle, at which point they will be removed from your oboloo platform.
- Credits: In some countries/territories, Stripe is required by law to credit these licenses. If this applies, the credited licenses will be removed immediately from your oboloo platform, and you can use the credit on your next invoice.
Important Notes
- Primary User Requirement: Only the email of the user who originally signed up for the trial can access the customer portal. If you need to change the primary user on the account, please reach out to support.
- Immediate Billing: Additional licenses are billed immediately.
- License Availability: New licenses are available immediately after purchase. Removed licenses remain until the next billing cycle unless credited due to local laws.
